On Saturday evening, November 12th, the first-ever Melrose Bellow literary festival will take over 13 restaurants, bars and businesses on Melrose Avenue, including The Village Idiot, Groundlings G3 Stage* and Vinoteque on Melrose. There will be “pre-event” activities beginning at 5 p.m., with the the main events from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The various activities will be on Melrose Ave. along the four block stretch of from Poinsettia Pl. to Gardner St.
Curated by Angeleno literary mogul Conrad Romo, Melrose Bellow will feature more than 75 performers, including readings from Writ Large Press/Chiwan Choi, Write Bloody Press/Derrick Brown, ONTHEBUS publisher Jack Grapes, Melissa Chadburn and poet Brendan Constantine.
(*Note that the 7 p.m. A Bunch of Losers Reading Essays is at the the G3 Stage in the Groundlings School building on the southeast corner of Melrose Ave. and Poinsettia Pl. You do not need to go to the main Groundlings Theatre.)
