The Melrose Business Improvement District (BID) is hosting a series of themed events this summer that will highlight the great things Melrose Ave., from Fairfax to Highland, has to offer. The series is called The Art of Melrose and will be held on the third Thursday in June
July and August from 6 to 9 p.m., each month focusing on a different 3-to-4 block stretch of the street.
Next Thursday, June 18th, is The Art of Melrose: Focus on Fashion in the Gardner, Martel and Fuller blocks where there is a large concentration of high-end boutiques, trendy restaurants, and unique stores. On this first Art of Melrose evening, there will be live models in-store, mini-fashion shows, food trucks, live music, restaurant specials and other live entertainment. For details on special offers and events Thursday evening, see the blog on the Melrose Avenue BID website.
For this night and each of the nights below, food trucks of many kinds will be along Melrose Ave.
(The event scheduled for Thursday, July 16th has been cancelled.)
And, on Thursday, August 20th, The Art of Melrose: Focus on Expression will take place on the west end of Melrose from Ogden to Curson. Focus on Expression will feature established and emerging imagery and artistry in fashion, food, accessories and the arts along the Melrose. The evening will feature live painting, artists accessorizing clothes and shoes, art shows, special performances, DJs and, of course, food trucks.
These evenings are another way to explore and enjoy the “downtown” of Melrose Village.
