Mid City West CC Candidate Forum Wednesday Evening

As we posted earlier this week, Neighborhood Council (NC) elections take place on Sunday, March 30th.

The NC that represents Melrose Village east of La Brea Ave. — Mid City West Community Council (MCWCC) — is holding a forum for the candidates running for various seats on their Board of Directors. As listed on the MCWCC website, “Each candidate will be given the opportunity to introduce themselves, say a few words, answer a few questions, and learn about the Neighborhood council system.”

The MCWCC Candidate Forum will be held on Wednesday, March 26th, from 6 to 8 pm at Hancock Park Elementary School Auditorium, 408 South Fairfax Ave. a couple of blocks south of 3rd and Fairfax.

Please note: The entrance for the school is a pedestrian gate at Colgate and Fairfax. There is street parking on the north side of Colgate, and in the faculty lot on that side. Parking west of Fairfax is restricted to those with District 34 residential permits, and parking on the south side of Colgate is Park La Brea only. Going westbound on Third Street, you would turn left at the Ogden light, then swing around to Colgate. I’m not sure if there will be overflow parking allowed on the play yard. I recommend walking if you live nearby. Try to come before it gets dark, so you can see the wonderful California Native Plant project being spearheaded by a parent, and don’t forget to look at the classwork along the walls.
