As we have reported extensively for the past two years, Poinsettia Recreation Center has been renovated and revived, and today the park is better than ever.
But there is more to be done. The park will be receiving additional funds in the next few years from L.A. County’s Prop K and other sources. How should that money be spent? What upgrades and additions would be most useful to park patrons? What would you like to see happen?
If you want to be part of making those important decisions, apply to join the Park Advisory Board. Kortley Norris, the park’s director, has issued a call for additional community members to join the board.
Members of the Park Advisory Board attend a meeting at the park every few months, and give their input on what is most needed in the park. To apply for the Board, contact Kortley for an application form. Her e-mail address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
By the way, the next Park Advisory Board meeting will be held Tuesday, November 27, at 6:00 pm, in the park’s new community room. Come and participate – and be a part of your local park’s future.
