Blues on Beverly

One of our eagle-eyed neighbors noticed Old Navy signs up today on the empty storefront at the southeast corner of Beverly Boulevard and Gardner (across the street from Pan Pacific Park, and in the former home of a furniture store that had “Going Out of Business” banners up for a long time).

A visit to Old Navy’s Facebook page reveals that this is a pop-up store called “The Bluesology Bar Pop-Up Denim Boutique.”  It will run for just three days this weekend.

According to Old Navy:

For three days only, we’re opening up a pop-up denim boutique in Hollywood.  Come by and let one of our Bluesologists fit you in a perfect new pair of FREE* jeans, while supplies last.  Friday only, we’ll have special guest appearances by Luke Perry from 12-4pm, and Gabrielle Carteris from 2-4pm.  While you’re there, stop by the Bluesology Denim Bar and Loose Fit Lounge.  Plus, enjoy live music, a photo booth, DJ, fun giveaways, special guest appearances, rigged denim station, art installations and more.

Hours: Fri & Sat 12–9, Sun 12–4.

*One pair of jeans per customer.  Offer valid while supplies last from 8/24/12 – 8/26/12 at the Old Navy Bluesology Bar.  Not valid online.  Gap Inc. employees are not eligible.

That is certainly an interesting use of an empty storefront….

The address is 7470 Beverly Boulevard.

Thanks for the heads up on the free jeans! …fyi the place was practically empty at 1pm on Friday.

  3. An account from a reader:
There was a lot to like about last night’s Old Navy party celebrating the opening of their new, short-term Beverly pop-up shop , the Old Navy Bluesology Bar. Guests walked away with free jeans and Western-themed, boot-shaped glass beer mugs, for instance. There was an open bar, and wait staff proffering little snacks on sticks like mini corn dogs and meatballs. Oh, and Luke Perry and his fellow OG 90210 co-star Jennie Garth were there, mingling and chatting. Perry, Garth and Jason Priestly are the stars of the retailer’s 90210-themed back-to-school denim campaign—check out their commercials here and here . We snagged a moment with the man who will forever be Dylan McKay in our hearts to talk about jeans, fashion and LA.
