Save the date of Tuesday, August 7. On that day, the official ribbon-cutting and grand re-opening of Poinsettia Recreation Center will take place at around 5:30 pm. Immediately afterwards, a festive National Night Out event will be held in the park.
More than one million dollars worth of improvements have been made to Poinsettia Recreation Center, and all of the upgrades are now complete! The ribbon-cutting ceremony will recognize the great improvements that have taken place in the park due to the combined efforts of our neighborhood, the City of Los Angeles, the LAPD, and City Council member Paul Koretz’s office. Elected officials and other dignitaries will participate.
The National Night Out event will run from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. It will feature free food treats from local restaurants and businesses, free trees (for Los Angeles residents), games for kids, live music, great giveaways and more. The event is sponsored by Melrose Action Neighborhood Watch and the LAPD Wilshire Division.
See you in the park August 7.
