More Real Estate Info

For years, many of us in this neighborhood have been working hard to brand our community as “Melrose Village.”  We have understood the need to differentiate our neighborhood from West Hollywood (which is a separate city, just to the north) and from Hollywood (which is a large section of Los Angeles to the northeast of us, with a different character).

We have gotten help from lots of people, including local real estate agent Jimmy Martinez, who has done a great job of identifying sale properties as being in Melrose Village.

Jimmy recently sent us some data showing that, according to his calculations, the median sale price in Melrose Village in 2011 was $899,500, and the average square foot price was $495.23.

Jimmy added, “Interest rates are at all time lows, the inventory of homes is low, and Melrose Village is highly desired for its convenience and proximity to L.A.’s best shops, restaurants, entertainment and culture.”

Amen.
