We have reported previously that a West Elm furniture store was set to open on Beverly Boulevard, at Kings Road, in the old Blueprint Furniture space. It’s the company’s first Los Angeles store; the only other nearby location is in Santa Monica.
Well, it’s open. Today’s Los Angeles Times reports that the store opened Thursday, in time for the holiday shopping season.
West Elm creative director Vanessa Holden told the Times that this store is different from the company’s other retail locations. “This store is much more rich and layered. We want each store to reflect its community. A visit to the Dallas store will be completely different than this store.”
Not to knock Dallas – but we certainly hope so. (Okay, maybe we will knock Dallas a little bit.)
