So in just a few months, more than one million dollars of long-planned upgrades will have been put into our neighborhood park – which is great news during this time of fiscal distress for Los Angeles. (Fortunately, community advocates have been pressing the city for these improvements for years, and the money was set aside a few years ago from “Quimby Funds” that are specifically used for capital improvements in parks.)
Want to know more about the upgrades? Want to see them for yourself? Want to have input into the final decisions about what’s going into the park?
Then come to tomorrow’s Park Advisory Board meeting (on Tuesday, October 25, 2011), at 7:00 pm, in the classroom attached to the gymnasium.
And stay tuned for announcements about the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the park in February. It will be festive!
