The 27th annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles is set up for Sunday, October 16th. The walk was established to raise funds and awareness for the issue of HIV/AIDS and AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA). Even with the great progress being made in controlling the effects of HIV/AIDS, the disease is still with us and more work is yet to be done.
Since 2001, AIDS Walk Los Angeles has had its start and end points in West Hollywood, in the area of West Hollywood Park, near San Vicente Blvd. and Santa Monica Blvd. (Before that the walk had its start and end points at Paramount Studios.) Part of the walking route comes through Melrose Village.
We’ll post a reminder with more details when we’re closer to the date of the walk. And you can get more information about AIDS Walk Los Angeles at their web site, including how to support the walk either by walking or through donations.
