Recent articles (such as this one in the Los Angeles Times) have been talking about changes coming to DC Comics superheroes starting next week. Comic book publishers have been seeing a change in their customer base, and this could be for many reasons, ranging from new media to internet use to the economy. Of course, if you’re a comic book fan, you probably know all this.
And, if you’re a comic book fan, you probably already know about the two comic book stores in Melrose Village. One is Melrose Music and Comics on the northwest corner of Melrose Ave. and Poinsettia Place. The other is more well-known in comic book circles, and that is Golden Apple Comics, now located on the south side of Melrose just east of La Brea Ave.
Comic book creators – writers and artists – have been spotted at Golden Apple, and people come from all over southern California to visit and shop here.
So now, even if you’re not a comic book fan, you know where to buy your comic books.
