Sausage Joints Invade Neighborhood

It’s now clear what the next big food trend is – gourmet sausages.

We can tell because two gourmet sausage joints are about to open in our neighborhood.

On La Brea Avenue, the Wirtshaus German Restaurant and Bar is taking over the space long occupied by health food restaurant Sante, just north of Beverly Boulevard.  According to EaterLA, it should open any day now.  (Kind of ironic that a sausage joint is taking over from a health food place, isn’t it?)

Meanwhile, over on Fairfax Avenue, Currywurst is moving in next door to the venerable Thai restaurant Chao Krung (just south of Beverly Boulevard), across the street from the Farmers Market and The Grove.

Let’s see how they both do.  They might give some competition to neighborhood icon Pink’s – but we are pretty sure they will never be as popular.
