Yes, Everyone Loves Trader Joe’s

The Melrose Village Blog has been operating for nearly eight months now, covering the news about our great urban neighborhood, from community events to restaurant openings to schools, parks, and theaters.  We have kept track of how many people visit the blog, and which topics get the most attention.

We now have a definitive answer about what gets the most attention:  Trader Joe’s.

Our May 24 post, Construction of New Trader Joe’s Starts Next Week, received 839 views during the past seven days.  That’s the greatest number any of our posts has received.

So now our mission is clear: In addition to covering everything else in the neighborhood, we will bring you more stories about Trader Joe’s.  We recognize your insatiable appetite for all things Joe-related.  We will meet it.

And we are perhaps uniquely positioned to do so.  After all, within a two mile radius of our neighborhood, there are currently five Trader Joe’s stores, with two more under construction.  (The five open stores are:  Movietown Plaza at Santa Monica Boulevard and Poinsettia; 3rd and La Brea; Hollywood and Vine in the new W Hotel/apartment complex; 8000 Sunset at Crescent Heights; and Santa Monica Boulevard just west of La Cienega.  The two under construction are:  The A.F. Gilmore project at 3rd and Fairfax and the new Caruso residential/retail building at the intersection of La Cienega Boulevard and Burton Way.)

What can we say?  Everyone loves Trader Joe’s.
