Restaurants in Melrose Village named “Essential”

Why do we love Melrose Village?  One of the top reasons is the food.  Many of the best restaurants in Southern California are right here, within easy walking distance of our homes.

The proof is in today’s LA WEEKLY, whose cover story is this year’s “99 Essential Restaurants” in Los Angeles County, written by the paper’s Pulitzer Prize-winning food writer Jonathan Gold.  Of the 99 restaurants, a full 9 are in Melrose Village.

The restaurants are:

Angeli Caffe

Angelini Osteria

Animal

Eva

Golden State

Hatfield’s

Mozza

Street

Terroni

Another 10 of the named restaurants are within one mile of Melrose Village, including Ammo, Bistro LQ, Comme Ca, Loteria Grill, Lou, Lucques, Meals by Genet, Musso & Frank Grill, Providence, and Salt’s Cure.

That gives us probably the highest concentration of great restaurants anywhere in Southern California.

Happy dining!
