Shutting these stores will only drive the drug trade further into the black market. You seriously think pot won't be sold on Melrose anymore if you close the brick and mortar shops?
I don't think this is good for the area. I liked the open space that was created by Carls Jr. located at that corner. The sunsets were nice, you could see the Hollywood sign and Hollywood Hills, you got a sense of spacial rest. But now with to-the-sidewalk tall obtrusive gentrifier housing... thats being built there it looks crowded, compacted, shade making... dark... condensed... I'm running out of words and I know there are more to describe that new development.

Granted, a certain element will be pushed out but its really homogenized and gentrified now. But what can I or the regular people of LA do, we can't stop it.

I also feel the same for where Vons used to sit. Total annihilation of a sense of open space, just this huge building there. Its not "urban" its gentrified pretentiousness that doesn't define the area.

And their going to do more of it at the corner of Sunset and Western too, no open space with that new Target, just this tall, again, using every foot of the property to create this tall obtrusive behemoth of retail and probably housing etc.

It will UP the area, I wish they would demolish Food For Less, what a dump, BUT if greedy could-care-less for LA/Hollywood developers would get that they'd do the same!

Its like a double edged sword in some ways. Progress is great, but not at the expense of the character of Hollywood and or Los Angeles.

There have been at least 3 armed robberies at pot stores in this neighborhood. Not far away, there was a murder at a pot store on La Brea near Wilshire when a security guard tried to stop another armed robbery. All of this information can be easily found through Google searches. You may not be aware of the facts - but that doesn't mean that the facts don't exist.

I live 1/2 block from the Melrose dispensaries.
I do not agree with your statements about crime. At the neighborhood meetings there has never been any specific mention of any
Incidents. When you kick out these storefronts you will be left with empty storefronts that will deteriorate.

Lets stick to facts and not false

Thank you! I appreciate your advice. Now I know I'm right to complain about that inconsiderate person who lives across the street with plenty of room in front of his house but has to park just on the right side of my driveway with the rear in MY driveway. Also blocking the street where I put the trashcans out.

Can I please get some feedback on this: It is customary to put our trash containers out the night before trash day. A few weeks ago I had our trash cans out just down our driveway onto the street. My son pulled up in front of our house and was on the phone, this was around midnight. The guy that always parks there now pulled up and got out of his car and proceeded to move our trashcans just completely blocking our driveway.
My son got out of his car and told him to put the cans back where they were and don't be moving our cans .... etc. etc. Well, that guy is not only inconsiderate but feels he is entitled to park as such.. Exactly like that white car in that picture above.....

Well can anyone relate to this.... I really am sick of neighbors doing things like this to us. Oh, but if the shoe was on the other foot.
Thanks, Lori,

You can try posting a sign that says, "Do not block driveway." As long as the sign is on your property, we don't see any problem with posting one.

Regarding your question on parking permits per household, it's not clear what you are asking. If your block does not already have permit parking, and you would like to get permit parking established there, contact your City Council member for information. In the Melrose Village neighborhood, that is Paul Koretz.

can I post a sign stating " do not block driveway"? is there a law or rule behind this ?
Do you happen to know how to make parking with parking permits per household?
