One of our roving correspondents recently took an evening walk to the Farmers Market and took some photos of the new goings-on in the area.
It looks like the new Trader Joe’s complex being built at the northwest corner of Fairfax Avenue and 3rd Street is going up fast and furious:
It also looks like the new gourmet burger joint, Short Order, is about to open at the Farmers Market. This is the burger place brought to us by Nancy Silverton, of Mozza and La Brea Bakery fame. It is located next to Du-par’s, in the building that used to house the bakery of Du-par’s:
Finally, it seems like the new sausage restaurant, Currywurst, is gaining an audience. The place is on Fairfax, a block south of Beverly Boulevard (and next to beloved Thai restaurant Chao Krung). It’s part of a mini-boomlet of German-style comfort and street food in Los Angeles:

I’ve been told that Silverton’s group has also taken over the Thee’s space in the market, and that it will be a pastry/coffee place.
Nice!
