One of our neighborhood scouts reported that a new steakhouse has opened on Fairfax Avenue, just south of Rosewood (and Fairfax High School).
We did some research and found that it’s called Rosewood Tavern. It’s brought to us by restauranteur Georges Abou-Dauod, who is best known for his Sunset Boulevard spots Bowery, District, and Mercantile. The interior design is industrial, 28 craft beers are available, and the menu includes steaks, chops, spiced chicken wings, and slow-roasted beef dip sandwiches. It looks promising.
With this restaurant joining the popular Animal and the neighborhood stalwart Canter’s Deli, Fairfax Avenue is becoming a meat-lover’s paradise.
Bring on the steak! Mario’s Peruvian Restaurant on Melrose and Vine has a wonderful “Lomo Saltado”: Steak with French fries. Or Try “Phillip’s BBQ” in Leimert Park. Incredible brick oven slow cooked BBQ. Some things are worth a heart attack!
I haven’t been there yet but Golden State, just south of the Tavern, has the
best boutique beers around and excellent food!!!!
