In our neighborhood, the food news never stops.
The latest news is about the ever-expanding Cobras & Matadors empire. Last year, owner Steven Arroyo opened a sandwich place next door to the Beverly Boulevard restaurant. The shop, Potato Chips, has now started serving Sunday dinners. It sounds like a great deal – $25 for four courses. Seatings are at 5:30 pm or 7:30 pm. According to the Daily News, “The first menu (no sandwiches) will feature sweet onion Parmesan veloute, au gratin squash, braised beef brisket and a house-made dessert. Menus will change weekly. Reservations welcome.” For that deal, we would definitely recommend making reservations.
Meanwhile, Arroyo is about to open his latest restaurant around the corner, on Stanley just north of Beverly. Escuela Taqueria will serve, well, tacos of course. It will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
