Get Graffiti Removed – Fast!

Have you noticed graffiti near your home or business?  It’s easy to get graffiti removed quickly.  Just notify the City, or directly contact Pacific Graffiti Solutions, our local anti-graffiti vendor.  Pacific Graffiti Solutions does a great job, and they usually get the graffiti removed within 48 hours.

You can call, e-mail, or fill out an online form.  It’s up to you.  Here’s how to do it quickly and easily:

Call 311 (the L.A. City information line) and give the operator information about where the graffiti is located.  The more details you can give, the better.

E-mail directly to Pacific Graffiti Services at this e-mail address:  graffiti@wwwpgs.net

Use this online form to report the graffiti: http://anti-graffiti.lacity.org/welcome.cfm

Most of us really dislike graffiti.  The bad news is that it’s hard to prevent, because it is usually sprayed by furtive young men in the middle of the night when no one is around.  The good news is that it’s easy to get cleaned up – and fast!

The online form is very efficient, with graffiti removed by next business day.

From what I remember, the removal team do not take pics; however, there is a site, http://dpw.lacounty.gov/itd/dispatch/publicgraffiti/index.cfm?action=report , to report and upload pics. If the vandals get caught, the city can match them to additional crimes and increase the penalty.

Ironically, in 2009 the site for “Graffiti Abatement Referral System (GARS), County of Los Angeles, Department of Public Works” was voted Best of California (http://www.centerdigitalgov.com/survey/2581). But who even knows about it?! If not for this award I would have had no idea it even existed.

    • Marty, you will be glad to hear that Pacific Graffiti Solutions does take photos of graffiti before covering it over. They make the photos available to the LAPD and other City authorities. As you suggest, most graffiti vandalism is committed by a small number of young males – and helping catch even one of these jerks can lead to dramatically less graffiti in the community.

And one more thing, you can request paint, brushes, gloves and rags and DIY. With budget cuts this is a way to save the city money, it beats waiting 24hr (the graffiti will barely see the daylight), and it is completely free.

When it comes to graffiti, there is one very important rule: The faster a graffiti is removed the less likely for it to reappear.
